If our offense is running through Blackwell next season we are in big trouble. But don’t worry, it won’t. She is playing way out of position and well beyond her current skill set.
But as others have pointed out, what is the option this year? There isn’t one. If Blackwell wasn’t taking on this role it would be one of 2-3 other smaller guards bringing the ball up court and dribbling around forever until either the shot clock runs out or they pick up their dribble and get swarmed and turn the ball over.
I know that's an overstatement but jeez it feels like that happens a lot.
