Fred Hall former president of the board of curators and the man behind our facilities improvements in the 1990s under Larry Smith, told the St. Louis Tiger club the following story:

Kadlec hosted Medearis for a visit and took him around campus to the stadium to the facilities and at the end of the visit he said “Well what do you think Rusty, are you ready to become a tiger? And Meadaris replied “ Coach I’ve got news for you.... you’ve got the worst facilities in the country.”
