Daughter just got back. Said it was pretty bad

Although she did bring back a nice haul of cigars, she said it was remarkably poor but felt safe. Don't think a return trip will happen for her, although I wouldn't mind diving down there. Sad that they could do so well with tourism from the US, but afraid an influx of cash from us wouldn't ever get down to the people. Just don't think the government there has any interest in empowering anyone but themselves.
