I claimed that the electoral college is antiquated. The founders thought that the electors would be 1) independent and 2) more knowledgeable than the average voter.
Hamilton said as much in his Federalist paper #68. With the formation of parties, no elector is independent, and whether they are more knowledgeable is unknown. Why maintain this facade when we can actually just count the votes of people?
You know perfectly well that I didn't claim that the EC was formed because vote-counting was an obstacle. You're usually a better reader than this.
