The belief that tariffs are good is deep enough that there are some on this board who continue to insist that it's actually the Chinese manufacturers who are hurt, and that American businesses are unharmed. Specifically, if a Chinese firm exports steel at $100 and the tariff is $20, then that firm actually lowers their price (say $80?) in response.
