way to weaken (and hopefully then destroy) the cartel is to have legal drugs. Surely you can see that. If they make less money they have less to buy Mexican officials, which you must know has happened for years and is the underlying problem.

The huge majority of addicts can not stop. Most even fail rehab. After a free session of rehab, I say if they can't/won't stay clean, and commit crimes because of it, just give them the drugs (now very cheap) and let them destroy their OWN life. That will never happen, but it most certainly is a viable solution.
