having his son being deposed in front of the Senate, and/or being deposed himself even as states are voting in the primaries would not be a help to his campaign.

Iowa is having their caucus February 3rd & New Hampshire is having their primary election February 11th.

The other senators running for the Democratic nomination probably would like to be out on the campaign trail as well.
