A part of the problem was the way the tickets were initially sold at Mizzou Arena. Corporations and large donors were allowed to buy large blocks of seats in the lower bowl easily. A significant number of the seats were sold to KC/STL corporations as such. The locals including my family with significant TSF points (20+ year season ticket and TSF donors at the time) were not able to purchase in that area due to the corporate focus. Thus the crowds look horrible on TV. If you pay attention the turnout in the upper area is fairly decent based on how the team is performing.
