on the beach with another Lt. and worked on the missile site on top of the hills above us. Made $222/mo. and had all the money I needed. But we're talking 1964. Was about the cheapest place in the country and the best place possible to live. Then. Used to think I would never begin to leave it. Lived on two beaches, skiing on the weekend, total nirvana. Met my wife in Mexico on a singles tour. But when I lost my job about 3o years ago we decided to move on. I never dreamed Cal. could get as bad as it has apparently become.
Though wish I'd kept my property. Just went on zillow, which actually has pictures, including interior, of places I'd lived. A huge bummer for me, looking at what that is worth now.
Real estate. Tell your kids to get in it. Can't miss. Speaking as a broker ever since then.
