there would be no reason for recruits to not join our program because there was no indication we were under investigation. That was also a verbal notice, and there exists no documentation to support that timeline and it defies all logic that the situation played out in the sequence that MU alleges.

Almost certainly the retroactive narrative was created during the 2015-16 season that MU was under a significant investigation.
