No, not in terms of military power.
They both have failing economies that the dictators in charge hid by being aggressive, brute force, and foreign interventions.
Once called out, they rapidly fail when everyone realizes how weak they really are.
Even Iran's citizens no longer support the regime, and are sick of the mullahs.
