Big WBB game today @ Arkansas...

Arky is 13-3 overall. 1-2 in conference play, ranked #21, projected as a 7 seed in the current ESPN bracket.
Still not sold on them as a top 25 team though. Of the 6 ranked SEC teams, they are the one I think we have the best chance of pulling an upset on, although it is probably more likely to happen in the return game in Columbia on February 2.
They played an awful non conference schedule in getting out to a 12-1 start to the season. Their overall strength of schedule as of Monday was #153 in the nation, and their non conference SOS was #212. Their RPI as of Monday was #44.
Their lone loss prior to SEC play was 84-80 to an 8-6 Cal team. In the SEC they have beaten a mediocre Auburn team 86-70, and lost to TAMU at home 84-77, and on the road to SC, 91-82, in a game that was not really that close, down by 21 in the 4th quarter before making it closer in garbage time.
Are they more talented than us? Yes. Although the answer to that question is probably Yes against any team except Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama, and maybe Florida.
I still would not be surprised to see Mizzou play a good game and have a chance for an upset. We need to keep the game close in the first half and not let the crowd get into the game. Need a big game from the seniors, particularly Amber Smith, who has been very inconsistent the last 10 games. Played only 19 minutes against Miss St and had just 2 points. It hardly seemed like she was on the court even when she was on the court. And of course need a big game from either Blackwell or Frank, preferably both. We are a great FT shooting team, as long as it isn’t Blackwell or Green on the line, which could be the difference in a close game.
The next 8 games are brutal, 5 games against ranked teams, 2 more on the road against likely NCAA qualifiers Georgia and LSU, with the only breather coming against Ole Miss on the road. An upset win today would give us an outside shot at going 3-5 or even 4-4 in these next 8 games.
