disagreement.
Abortion is such an instance. My premise that it is always wrong to deliberately kill an innocent human being is pretty much a religious one.
If it is true, then this syllogism is pretty unassailable:
A. Deliberately killing an innocent human being is wrong.
B. Abortion is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being.
C. Abortion is wrong.

But many of the discussions pickle hides from are not based upon religion, but upon his fear of looking stupid when is philosophy leads to absurd results...
Such as, there should be no laws against a neighbor having sex with his horse on the edge of his yard, next to his neighbor's little children standing in their yard waiting for the school bus.
Or... masturbating in front of little children in a schoolyard isn't hurting anyone.
Or... buying, selling &/or possessing kiddie porn does not hurt anyone.
Or... There should be no laws against driving drunk... while shooting up heroin and driving 100 mph through a school zone. If someone gets hurt, collect reparations from the driver.
