Several posters have had an interesting discussion concerning Blackwell’s play this season.
MNTIGER posts with a statistical/analytical,efficiency look at Blackwells play are fascinating and really reflect what we see on the court.
Posters who defend Blackwell’s play based on lack of options, and the lack of other playmakers on this team have valid points too.
It’s obvious Blackwell doesn’t value the ball. Whether that would change with experience and better teammates around her is an open question.
If Pingeton had others options she could attempt to influence Blackwell’s playing style by at times reducing her minutes. That’s not realistic this year.
Blackwell does many things really well and in recent games I think her quality of play has been raised a bit.
The team deserves credit for the win yesterday , their play in the first half was maybe the best of the year.
I’m afraid the team will see the type of pressure defense applied by LSU during the 2nd half throughout the SEC schedule.
