John the Baptizer, was half cousin to Christ, and recognized Him while John was still in the womb. He was no slacker.
"For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
He was sent to Egypt by God. He was sent back to Israel, up to Nazareth, by God. He preached in the temple and confounded the wise men.
He had at least one half brother.
" And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."
They didn't get a room, not because they were poor, but because none were available.
"His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast."
He was a bible scholar.
"Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. So when they saw Him, they were amazed"
He was a carpenter.
"Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?"
