nation-building business. We have EVERY possible natural resource needed to fuel our own economy. I am not against exporting the surpluses either after we have sufficient material and emergency stores. But the need to dominate the "global economy" is fueled by greed only. Our Republic would function well within our own confines. SEVERE limits on immigration are needed. SEVERE limits on the amount of "global citizens" the greedy universities educate for a fee are needed. Medicines and medical breakthroughs should be shared...without astronomical profit margins.

As far as military defense. I think our budgets should remain relatively robust, going for weapon DEVELOPMENT. We should have the best in the world. As far as deployment, bring our young people back to DEFEND our shores and borders. Get out of the "world policing" gig! Our foreign policies should be basic: Let others come to us and let our interactions with them be sparse and measured. If the event comes that someone is threatening invasion, we hit hard and destroy the threat completely. Then we come back home, without rebuilding that country(ies) for massive corporate profit.

The Gubmint can get back to providing for the common defense and building/repairing vital infrastructure. Period.
