Both the GOP and the Right take this approach. If it takes cheating to win, I'll cheat. Pretty simple. Trump, McConnell, Gingrich, Graham are but manifestations of that. They fully know that if everybody voted, they would not stand a chance, so they do all they can to assure not everyone votes. If it takes bribing foreign officials to hurt an opponent, they (at least Trump who is most egregious in this approach) will bribe the foreign official. If it takes NOT allowing a vote on duly elected POTUS nominee to the court in order to be sure only their guys get such a vote, they just won't allow the vote.

At least we know where we stand.
