I have stated countless times that I am born and bred Liberal, Proud Liberal American. While I do not belong to any political party - I typically side with the Dems b/c the GOP is so reprehensible. I am fully transparent. Last party I belonged to for maybe a year was the KC Greens - WHILE living in BOCOMO of all places. That ended in '92.
TV - Turned if off at Iraq War. Re-engaged not too long there after, but don't spend too much time on Talking Heads regurgitations. 20 mins a night maybe - a little Larry or Rachel a breath of Hannity, can't take more.
I have not seen a TV since Thursday night - I was in Columbia for graduation.
Centrism - in the old school way of thinking, totally Centrist, fiscal Conservative and Socially Liberal. I don't support "abortion on demand" but contend the decision to have a baby is up to the woman and not the state. I favor progressive taxation and pay-as-you go legistlation. Opposition to war is passe now because it has been constant since 911 or before. We remain at war b.c. there is serious coin in it for the well-positioned. I favor national health care b/c it is a system that works sht ton better than ours and would SAVE All of you money. I am mostly a Pantheist Spiritually and enjoy Sufie Practices. I was never a boy scout and am not one now. Do I smoke dope with my kids? Not too often, they engage more than I do, but I don't see them that much. I like a good IPA and Pinot Noir. There has never been a band that even approaches what the Grateful Dead achieved. Not even close.
I was in a coma 2 wks as a child, epilepsy, brain tumor and radiation treatment. Never broken a bone, but I could smoke your ass on a volleyball court or in chess or backgammon.
