And as for him being a danger to others, it's complicated.Like I posted below the majority of violent offenders did the act in a blackout and are unlikely to recedivate if they are sober.

The complication is he was perhaps unfairly incarcerated and that could have changed him. Prison for a young offender can be gladiator school, it's called that. It can change you.

You obviously know him and the situation and trust him.
