Via the FISA law's two hop rule, the government hoovered up all of his communications, as well as the communications of everyone he had contact with. The information was not limited to logs, such as dates, times and to and from, but included text or content of the communication. Additionally, the government went back in time well before the date of the FISA. The big question is, who else did they spy on through Carter Page and what did they do with this information? As a member of the Trump campaign's foreign policy team, the FBI likely monitored everyone on the committee, including candidate Trump. Who all in the Obama administration was allowed to review these communications intercepts?
