McConnell could have a vote to dismiss. Or, he could have a summary of the evidence presented by House counsel and a response from WH counsel, then vote. If the accused wants witnesses and a full blown trial, in order to give him the opportunity to make a more full defense, then McConnell will do that. None of those mean the process will be unfair, but if they did flex their political power, after the Dem travesty just perpetrated, it would be understandable.
