investigation started legally there can be no other issues with it. case closed. nothing to see here. Move along.

it would be like saying an officer had the legal authority to stop a motorist for a broken taillight and then planted drug evidence and suppressed exculpatory evidence but it was ok b/c gosh darn it the officer had the legal authority to make the stop.
