of alignment with what he reported, i have to believe that he either:

1) put waaaay too much faith in a completely unreliable source and did absolutely no actual fact checking or cross referencing,

or

2) waaaay overestimated his ability to pull off a completely BS story

either of those are fireable offenses, in my world.
