I'd hire a program builder (long-term). They've now had 4 coaches in 10 years. It's a loyal fan-base and the only game in town, so the sizzle factor is less important, but it needs to be someone who can bring in some solid guys and get to .500 within a couple of years. Morris has been epically bad, so I think that new person gets a little space. I'd look for someone really solid. McElwain is probably too strange for them, but he'd be a good choice. Leach would have been a great get for them. I wouldn't go young, but Bill Clark would be another good choice. I see it as a major rebuild.


For MO: The program needs some energy. I'd go young and be patient. Drinkwitz or Norvell or Napier would be excellent choices. We're not that far away, so a guy like Clawson would also be good. You have to generate some excitement to get folks interested again - whether that's a young guy with energy or a big name. I prefer the young guy route, even if it doesn't work.


Ole Miss: Honestly, I think they did a good job of hiring. They're about the "show" and a solid program (at least how it appears). You're probably not going to climb above Bama or Auburn, so get someone that can occasionally beat those guys and be an irritant. Kiffin is perfect for that and he can coach well enough to keep the pitchfork crowd at bay for awhile.

FSU: They need a total re-set. The place recruits itself and all kinds of in-state talent, so get a guy that can coach. If I'm them, I want someone with HC experience but you could take a chance. Sarkisian would be a good choice. Patterson of TCU would be a good choice if you could pry him away. Brohm of Purdue would be a great choice - imagine what he'd do with all that talent.
