May be best for them if they just drop the whole thing. Surrender, take the hit, and get back to work for the american people, as johnny mccain said.
Blame the Republicans and say they couldn’t get a just conviction with all the racists in the Senate.
They will catch hell for about two months. Then the country will have moved on, and by election day it will be a much smaller and more manageable issue.
The longer she drags this out, the deeper the wound it will cause.
I said yesterday that she may be smart enough to know she doesn’t have the votes, and will push forward anyway. Then, when the house does not vote to impeach, she can blame recalcitrant, evil, stupid Republicans. And the media.
Her constituents will make a martyr of her and Trump will be denigrated it to an even lower level of evil.
Among the stupids anyway. And that’s their base.
They are hurting themselves. And while that is fine with me, they have to realize that whatever course of action they take, it will be damaging. They should be asking how they can mitigate the damage.
A loss in the house of reprehensibles will tarnish her legacy. But if she continues, it will be more disastrous for the Socialist party and for her. She has to choose the lesser of two awful options.
Personally, I don’t think she can stop.
