as a given for the purposes of our discussions here. If everyone is biased would I want the opinion of someone discrete enough to keep it to themselves or someone who was announcing those biases to everyone they met?

More importantly, can you be both biased and fair? I will admit that over the years I have had a handful of students that I could not stand. I can say without a doubt that the grades they earned in my class were in no way affected by my feelings for them. Now I am lucky that in math and physics there is not a lot of room for subjectivity in grading but I believe that even if there where I could be professional in assigning their grade.
