in 2000 Bush/Gore debacle, the Democrats led by Al Gore wanted to be sure they followed the rules and the law in approaching the resolution of the Fl deal. The GOP led by Jim Baker wanted simply to win. The GOP plays to win, rules and laws be damned. You see that again and again and again. The Democrats are far from perfect, but their intent is not the craven reach for power that is the GOP. I tend to side with the Democrats b/c of the craven I-got-mine-GFY approach of the GOP.
