had always been.
2015 was no more a representation of the true program than 2012 was. Both 5-7 years. Both flukes.
In 2015 we were replacing an entire wide receiver core, developing a new offensive line and our experienced QB gets booted from the team and our star RB got a high ankle sprain his first carry of the season.
We we were essentially playing a bunch of 18-19 year olds against SEC opponents.
But that's okay. The experience they were going to get that year was going to pay huge dividends in the future when they were upper clansmen. And it did.
Pinkel handed him a program that went 81-38 with 5 division titles, two top 10 finishes, a No. 1 ranking, 8 Top 25 appearances and 7 bowl games in 9 years.
He handed him a defense that dominated the SEC for three straight seasons.
He handed him a future NFL QB with three years eligibility on offense.
He handed him a program that now annually gets $40 million a year in TV money, when every other coach was getting anywhere from 5 to 40 times less than that.
Boo hoo for Odom.
He took over the best situation, any coach has probably ever taken over since Chauncey Simpson in 1943.
