suddenly finding anyone with a microphone or notepad to get their stories out. I wonder what is causing the sudden big rush? I’m not cynical enough to suggest that they are all trying to get out in front of the IG report.

If you knew that the IG report was going to exonerate you as she suggest here why would you feel the need to break your silence? Wouldn’t you just sit back and watch the show as those that had slandered you got their just desserts?
