Amber sprained her ankle in the 1st half. Tried to go in the 3rd quarter and lasted 2 or 3 minutes.
There’s more problems than solutions for this group. On defense teams have little trouble driving right by our players. We don’t close out quickly enough on 3 point shooters. Rebounding is not strong.
Some of the turnovers are almost laughable. In a critical part Roundtree got a 5 second call as she was holding the ball with her back to the basket and cutters passing her. She actually probably held the ball 8 or 9 seconds. Once Chavis passed to Frank who wasn’t looking the ball bounced off her shoulder and turned over. Blackwell basically handed the ball to New Mexico as her teammate was standing next to her.
Blackwell is far from a star player. She shoots about 20% from 3 40% from the free throw line and 30% from the field. She also leads the team in turnovers.
It’s really hard with this group to get consistent play.
