misinformation?

The Free Beacon hired Fusion to conduct standard opposition research none of which included anything from Steele.

The free beacon contract ended. enter HRC via Perkins Coie who hired Fusion who then hired Steele who then produced the "dossier".

one had nothing to do with the other.

"The Associated Press even published a report this weekend claiming, “Steele’s opposition research effort was initially funded by the conservative Washington Free Beacon.” The AP corrected the story later, noting that, “Though the former spy, Christopher Steele, was hired by a firm that was initially funded by the Washington Free Beacon, he did not begin work on the project until after Democratic groups had begun funding it.”
