With impeachment taking place at the exact same time as the inoculating spin in anticipation of Horowitz and Durham news, we have a delicious Grand Vortex of leftist cognitive dissonance incoming NOW.
Democrats/ antiTrumpers must simultaneously believe two things or worldview collapses.
(1) Aggressively investigating presidential candidate Trump with the full force of FBI + US Intel + foreign Intel was absolutely mandatory the minute sketchy accusations were circulated and published that Putin/Russia might hold leverage over him.
(2) Half-hearted investigation of presidential candidate Biden, outsourced to Giuliani and Ukraine, based on well-reported and verifiable matters of public record (e.g., son on Burisma & Bohai boards), is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND CRIMINAL although even just the published tip of the iceberg implies Ukrainian and Chinese entities already hold significant leverage over Biden.
For Russia to blackmail Trump, the golden showers tape would have to go through the formality of actually existing. With Biden on the other hand the known deals create a standing threat that at any time his son’s partners can expose him; in fact they probably took care to make the payment details as embarrassing as possible, as their own Insurance Policy.
For as long as the public is expected to accept (1), it is a complete defense to the whole “investigation of rival candidate” schtick.
