weren't particularly bright. Someone who has the physical tools but doesn't reach their potential (outside of lack of effort) falls on coaching for either not putting them in positions they can be successful or not developing them correctly.
I would argue that Tilmon actually overthinks things to a huge degree, that is one of his limiting factors. For large stretches of the game he is not just naturally playing due to us asking him to do lots of things outside of his normal skill set. If he was thinking less, he would be much more effective.
