I don't get this about Watson

What does not playing in Ma Smith's position have to do with missing wide-open 3s? Watson is still scared to dribble more than 2-3 steps so drives or pull-up shots are out of the question at this point.

Wasn't Watson a scorer or just a 3-pt shooter in high school?
