... like some people here on TB, ammunition to advocate against necessary changes.

Therefore, agree with OP. Losing out is best for the program.

Our "strong" finishes in 2017 and 2018 against downtrodden programs did nothing to help Mizzou. Instead, it gave everyone false hope and prolonged the continuation of a head coach that doesn't deserve the position
