There is nothing Trump can do, at this stage, to head off the public Impeachment Inquiry hearings.
For a month, ConRs cried for transparency and release of testimony transcripts. They got that. Yet, Trump now says there shouldn’t be public testimony.
He will suffer the exposure of his extortion, bribery and shame. It is only going to get worse. I see no reason why the House won’t impeach him.
We are at that point of no return.
Whether the Senate takes seriously the next step of trial, and vote according to the findings, remains to be seen. But Mitch has already prepared the ConRs to expect the trial.
