I don't see Sterk forcing that on Barry. The only believable scenario is it was all initiated by BO only as a consultant for a year or two until Rocky retires. I am VERY skeptical of Rocky Long being an actual coach in any capacity or a "coach in waiting".

I do think Rocky Long has a good football mind and would be good in a consulting role. It could be BO reaching out to him thru Sterk considering their friendship, but BO has a lot of contacts in the coaching community too. I'd give this about a 2% chance of being true. As far as the "coach in waiting" nonsense, that is just BS. Zero percent chance that is true.
