1) Needed to run as a Republican in order to be elected mayor of NYC in 2001, and only returned to the Dem Party last year
2) As mayor, was a staunch supporter of 'stop and frisk.
3) As mayor, was a staunch supporter of mandatory minimum sentences
4) As mayor, was a staunch supporter of strict drug laws and does not believe marijuana should be decriminalized
5) As mayor, was a staunch supporter of a soda ban in NYC
6) As mayor, was a staunch supporter of the Patriot Act
7) As mayor, was a staunch supporter of providing tax breaks to big corporations.
