opine because discrediting someone (or thinking you have) does not necessarily discredit their idea. Even a non-working clock is right once a day. Personal attacks also do not always resonate with a non-judgemental audience. Also, gossip and other factors must go through filters of bias, perception, and memory lapses before it ever gets to an audience. I enjoy reading a more insightful post that gives us details rather than attacks.
