having these issues? I really think it is more out of arrogance than malice. Usually newcomers to DC are taken under the wing of other Congressmen or their staffs and shown the ropes. That helps them learn fast how to avoid pitfalls like this ( or hide them if you are a cynic). But this group came in to change the world and refused to listen to any of the experienced people. I think that has led many of their problems.

I saw the same thing happen in teaching about 15 years ago. When I started the profession we came in, shut our mouths, and tried to learn as much as possible from the experienced teachers around us. Sometime after 2000 that seemed to change. New teacher were coming in with the idea that the older teachers were the problem and they were there to save education. They did not ask for help and definitely did not want to be offered any. I saw many of them making mistakes that were making their lives difficult but they were not open to assistance because they were there to fix things.

I think that is what is happening with these young Dems. I have to admit that there was part of me that chuckled when the young arrogant teachers were falling flat, it is much easier to enjoy the downfall of these obnoxious Congress women(mostly).
