single game of Big 12 basketball era after about 2001 was on the standard tier of cable TV. And for the few years prior to that, only 1, maybe 2, per season were not.
Now, as you say, every game is available somewhere these days. But in you own words, "...who really wants to watch..." is different that anyone can easily watch.
Flipping on MetroSports (KC) or FSMW (about everywhere else) was easier than streaming.
I don't feel sorry for people who say/think they can't get the games. Because you are right, they can if they want to. BUT it is an absolute fact that it was easier to get them before.
