I haven't kept up with the hyperloop news, but when they first started talking about it it was just going to be for packages at first and eventually be able to carry passengers. For that price tag to build it, it's going to be expensive to ride it and take forever to get their money back. A 20 minute trip doesn't matter if the cost isn't right.
