1,2,3 years to kill the program into another two-decade abyss.

He loses 3-4 games a year that he should win.

All 4 seasons have been disasters in their own way

1. 2016- first season, he inherits an NFL QB arm and a defense that has been one of the best in the entire nation for three years and immediately the defense is atrocious because he needlessly changed everything and goes 4-8 in a season he should have won at least 7 games and surely made a bowl.

2. 2017- Started the season 1-5 and 0-3 in the SEC. Destroyed the season early, killed recruiting.

3. 2018- Started SEC 0-3.... again... for third straight year. Buried us in conference season. Lost two inexcusable games to Kentucky and South Carolina (both because of horrendously indefensible coaching decisions)

4. 2019-Easiest schedule Mizzou has probably had since joining the SEC. A very talented and experienced bunch was predicted by everyone to start 8-0. And they should have. Until they lost three easy wins against Wyoming, Vandy and Kentucky.

All teams often lose maybe 1 game a year they likely shouldn't have.

Barry losses at least 2 (2018), if not 3-4 games a year he should never lose.

He is also isn't smart enough to be a head coach. This is the guy that was down 19 in the 4th Q to Tennessee in 2016, scored a TD, then kicked the PAT to stay down 12 (requires to 2 TDs), rather than go for 2 and cut it to 11 (TD and FG). There is absolutely no difference being down 12 or 13 at that point with only 8 minutes to go but he kicked a PAT for no reason anyway. He's done very stupid things like that, on more than just that occasion.

I mean, I hate to call him stupid. But its obvious he doesn't have the intelligence to do simple mathematical logic in his head... and that is (should be) a requirement for a head coach.

And while I think he's actually recruited some strong talent... they do finish near dead-last in the SEC every single year under him.

They play stupid, undisciplined, unfocused and fundamentally-weak football. And they have for all 4 seasons under him.

Sad, because that's the exact opposite of Pinkel's teams which played sound, disciplined, fundamental football. A trademark he instilled immediately upon arrival in 2001. He knew the wins would take a little while since they were a dead, buried program that he took over. But the fundamentally sound, disciplined approach would be the foundation upon which they would build.

That doesn't exist in any way, shape or form under Odom and he took over a program that was a complete 180 from the one Pinkel took over. Pinkel took over a program that had no talent. No recruiting base. No resources. No fan base. No television exposure. No national recognition. And he led them to #1 in the nation and top ten in wins in the nation over a ten year period and 5 division titles in his last 9 years. And 2 in his last three.

We were 12 months removed from back-to-back division titles when Odom took over.

There is a lot to like about Odom. I loved him as a player. He's got the chops to do many things within coaching (coordinating and coaching individual defensive units), as long as he is under a successful head coach.

I basically wrote his entire Wikipedia page and beefed it up and tried to make it sound as impressive as possible this past off season because I thought it was important for when recruits google his name.

But you can't put lipstick on a pig.

4 seasons is enough. We'll never be much better than we were these last two years.
