government can and should step in to provide richly for all of its people. The best a government can do is to promote justice, maintain peace and eliminate undue barriers to success (i.e., excessive regulation and taxation). When it attempts to do more, we see what happens. And California and Illinois are examples that scream to this reality.

And yet, many still clamor for government to make everything right. Why? Because they are promised this and all too often actually prefer someone else do the hard work for them.
