there are drawbacks to all options. and I think when that is the case, it's better to fold than to double down. but the tiny withdrawal, giving Turkey the tacit approval to ramp up operations is just simply not the disaster that the left (you) is trying to make it out to be. I must have missed your congratulatory post to POTUS for obtaining a ceasefire BTW. The Kurdish general even thanked him, but not Gyro b/c there are partisan drums to beat.
but what I do know is that your position is hypocritical. and regarding your 2016 post, it ignored the fact that Obama funded ISIS to overthrow Assad. so to the extent that Syria is a problem, it's due in large part to Obama's foreign policy in the first place which vacated Iraq, gave rise to ISIS, then funded ISIS in a proxy war against Syria.
you consistently ignore the fact that the Kurds are not a monolithic group or "good guys". we have been round and round but many Kurds are socialist/Marxists. The Kurds in Syria are in fact associated with Kurdish terrorists and as you well know Kurds in Turkey and Syria have been responsible for countless terrorist attacks. you can try to deny that until the cows come home but I can and have sent you link after link proving otherwise.
You consistently ignore the fact that we have treaty agreements with Turkey while we have none with the Kurds. Should we have these agreements with Turkey? maybe not, but we do. We have no obligation to the Kurds whereas we have an obligation to Turkey.
and I think you lose sight of the bigger picture. Iran is now pitted against Turkey. Russia is pitted against Turkey. strategically, I think it makes more sense to GTFO than it does to stay.
