BO was handed a QB and a DT. Outside of that there wasn't much talent to work with. Pinkle had a ton of misses in the 2 recruiting classes during the SEC title seasons. There is a reason Mizzou was playing mainly freshman and sophomores the past couple season.

Why is the receiving core so young? This is the first season that Barry has a veteran defense because Pinkle didn't leave him with any young talent that would have been upperclassmen the last 2 years. Look how good the defense is now that Barry has rebuilt the depth and has juniors and seniors leading the way. He went to 2 bowl games playing mostly young guys he recruited while also playing a top 10 schedule last season.
