Yes, a one pitch pitcher not matter how good that one pitch is, usually gets beat in the full game. Being able to change speeds is a fabulous way to keep hitters off balance, but so is a second equally good pitch or being able to hit spots if you have a catcher that works well with a pitcher to keep that ball moving around.
Strange as it sounds a wild pitcher with good stuff is always effective against undisciplined hitters. :-)
