the fans they have lost through eliminating cheap seats will be tough to ever get back. They still haven't learned their lesson about corporate blocks of seats from the Hearnes Center move. People will be inside the club area drinking and entertaining clients. Instead of sitting outside and cheering loudly. They will never get that audience back.
While it is true they need high dollar seats and donors. It is understandable they want to maximize profits. But long term they are shedding loyal fans who live in the area and can make every game. Having a local fan base for your tickets is important when your two biggest close fanbases are 2 hours away. They aren't gonna build a bullet train or other rail system any times soon. Those local fans keep your stadium filled when the team is so bad people won't drive long distances.
