Bazelak hasn't proven he's ready yet. If he had, he'd be the guy, just like Chase was. Maybe next year he will be, but who knows?

Odom may also be trying to preserve his redshirt, especially with Robinson here the next two years. If that's the case, then Powell is the one who will get prepared for each game as the first guy who comes in. He'll need all the reps he can get in order to step in real time in case KB goes down.

That's two reasons. I think they're pretty common sense.
