craven as Gowdy obviously is - basically is a means to ingratiate himself w/the Trump base in order to shore up support for a national run he plans in the future. This is the guy when discussing the validity of the endlessness of the Benghazi hearings admittedt that they did what they were intended to do which was damage Hillary Clinton politically. Craven is the word for that.
